About
Julie’s work explores humanity’s interdependence on nature and collaboration with each other. Her “Biology Rising” installation won the Juror’s Choice award at Eugene 2022 Mayor’s Art Show and was featured in Fiber Arts Now magazine’s “Paper Made” show in 2023, and on PBS Southern Oregon’s “The Work of Art” show.
Julie has a BFA in performing arts, and a BA in English. Her journey as a visual artist started in the early 90’s with hand painted furniture and suitcases, clay and printmaking (with her first Eugene artwalk in 2004!) and then took off in 2018 after exiting from her multifaceted career at several start ups and HP Inc. in product development and marketing, leading teams through innovation and corporate culture change.
Julie has shown her work in group and solo shows locally and nationally and she’s especially interested in public art to tell stories about the natural world and our place in it. Her artwork has come full circle, with all her life experiences embedded in layers of color, texture and form. She posts new work and works in progress on her @juliejulieart Instagram and Facebook pages and her website is julieandersonbailey.com
